Ken Smith Bassen
Ken Smith Bassen
Okay.
Aankooptips? Afstel tips? let us know...

Model Listing Changes in Planning
Hi, currently and for about 15 years on the Web, our models have basically been listed by the feature/trim levels and not but shape. For instance, the BSRGN/BT'G' series or the BSR/BT Elite series. In both cases, the specs are the same within each series but offered in either the BT or BSR shape.
Many customers call us asking for either a BT or BSR model bass and THEN we go thru the 'Trim' levels of the Bass they want to classify what model 'series' it would fall under.
I think with a Car, you go to the Model and then choose the Level and not the other way around. After having my Car serviced today at the dealership and looking around at the cars on display, I thought, maybe this would be a better and easier way for you, the customer to choose your desired model.
So, this is what I am thinking Bass-ically;
BT Model Page (trim levels 1 thru 5)
1-Pro Series (MS-V Specs)
2-Exotic Series (BT 'G')
3-Tiger Series (TNV/WTV)
4-Elite Exotic (BT 'EG')
5-Tiger Elite (TN'VE'/WT'VE')
-----------------------------------
BSR Model Page (trim levels 1 thru 5)
1-Pro Series (MS Specs)
2-Exotic Series (BSR 'GN')
3-Tiger Series (TN/WT)
4-Elite Exotic (BSR 'EG')
5-Tiger Elite (TN'E'/WT'E')
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
So instead of listing it by 'Trim' level as before, we would list it by Body Shape and offer the various Trim levels for that Shape, BT or BSR.
Current Examples Listed Here; https://www.kensmithbasses.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;…/neckthru/neckthrumodels.html
Your thoughts please?

Voorbeeld 1 : KEN SMITH BSR6MW. 6 snaar.
Voorbeeld 2 : Ken Smith BSR5P
voorbeeld 3 : BSR 5 Pro Elite
voorbeeld 4 : BSR5GN 5 snaar, Neck through constructie.
Voorbeeld:
voorbeeld BSR5 WT
Voorbeeld : BSR 6 MS - 6 snaar black tiger standard (S) model

These Basses are made in a small shop in Korea from which many of them have worked for one of the biggest shops prior to starting their own. Their goal was to make quality Korean production Guitars and Basses. Brooklyn Gear contracts these Basses to be made, advertises them and distributes them worldwide.
Ken Smith Basses is not the maker or distributor of these Basses at all but rather contracted as a Designer and Consultant as needed with Brooklyn Gear.
tekst ergens:
- Alder body with a very attractive 4A flamed maple top with a satin finish
- Three piece Canadian maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard

- Gold finished hardware tops it off for a very classy look
- Every aspect of ever Ken Smith bass is inspected to ensure quality

Ken Smith Fusion model..

2004 : I've been sitting on this question for some time. Ken Smith 5-string basses are available in two different headstock configurations: 3+2 or 2+3. I read that the 2+3 configuration results in a tighter B-string. If so, then why bother with the 3+2 config? If not, then why not stick with the 2+3 configuration anyway?
met serieuze antwoorden:
I posted my philosophy about how to tighten the B string on a bass a while ago and have since accepted that I was misled. This is what I learned and now believe to be true:
(I'll use the "E" string as an example because I don't know the frequency of a "B" string without consulting my tuner).
JR, the only way to tighten the tention of the strings on a bass and keep them ringing their respective tones is to lengthen the scale between the saddle and the nut. What is done prior to the saddles or after the nut are irrelevant. I'll try to explain. What makes an "E" string ring an "E" note is the fact that it vibrates at 440hz. If you physicaly tighten the string it will no longer vibrate at 440hz and therefore you will not be hearing an "E" note. The only way to add tention to a string and still have it play in tune is to add length to the scale - The length between the saddles and the nut. This is why they offer 35, 36 and 37 inch scale instruments as a means of adding tension. This is why "short scale" instruments have such floppy strings; In order to get the "E" to ring at its required 440hz it has to be quite loose.
Anything else you may be hearing or reading may be nothing more than gimmics.
I'd like to read what other have to say on the matter.
en wat praktische antwoorden:
3+2 looks better.

Vintage Ken Smith Bassen...
Ken Smith startte medio 1978.
(GAS grr)
Alembic #12 (medio 72/73)
